In 2021, Samantha created the limited nonfiction series Beasts of Seattle as the podcaster-in-residence for Town Hall Seattle, examining the creatures that define the Emerald City. She also co-hosted the rom-com film review podcast You Should See the Other Guy.

Samantha won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Digital Journalism Article in 2018, the NLGJA Excellence in Political Coverage Award in 2021, and another NLGJA Award in 2024 . She was a Lambda Literary Award finalist for Real Queer America and has been nominated for two further GLAAD Awards.
